DIY Beauty: How to make your own fruit acid skin peel

by Amanda Prouten

(Not suitable for sensitive skins!)

You could spend a fortune at a salon having nasty stuff that fizzes and crackles put on your face, only for the beautician to say afterwards, "Well of course, you'll need to have several treatments to really notice the difference", thus robbing you of a couple of months' clothes budget.

Or you could go for simple kitchen beauty, follow this simple recipe for a natural skin peel (basically a DIY acid skin peel) and have a lovely peachy face instantly.

    You will need:
  • A fresh pineapple
  • 2 tablespoons of fine oatmeal
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

HOW TO MAKE A DIY SKIN PEEL:

Cut the rough peel from the pineapple leaving some of the flesh on and put in a blender with rest of the ingredients. Use half or it to gently scrub your face avoiding the delicate skin around your eyes. Make yourself a cocktail by blending a quarter of the rest of the pineapple and some white rum and drink after applying the rest of the mush to your face (but not near your eyes). When you've finished your cocktail, your face should be about done so rinse with cold water and finish with a liberal slap of moisturiser. Your skin should look pleasantly fresh, pink and wholesome!

Mission statement

Mookychick believes that climbing trees and riding giant turtles is more fun and girly than worrying about make-up. But if you want to worry about make-up instead of turtles? Fine by us. Be you feminist, kitten, punk, emo, indie, goth, witch, vegan, horror junky, intellectual, christian goth, corset queen, geek, unicorn, sea monkey... be you into alternative style, alternative health, spirituality, comics, manga, j-pop, harajuku or jock culture... we will always love you.
